Years ago, people used to pay a fortune of money to have a website with some basic features and limited resources. Now, everything is upside down! and business models are completely different. Instead, People are paying a little money for the hosting of their websites, and in return they make fortune of money out of their website. So, if you are delaying or feel lazy to have your own website and join the gang of money making wizards, the following informative tips will motivate you; first to have you setup a website for yourself! and secondly to have a go of earning some money from your site too! I will be talking concisely and straight to the point
!
1) Set your website Objective.
You need first to decide of course what do you want to publish on your site besides introducing yourself and talking about activities. It is recommended to pick the area of your expertise and write about. Examples include programming, photography, tutorials, Recent news….or anything that people will read.
2) Choosing Webspace and domain for your site.
You have two options to host your site, either free or paid. If you want to go with the free option, You are advised to use either : www.wordpress.com or www.blogger.com
The two systems offer members with free tools to enable creation of sites within minutes. The main drawback of the free option, is that you will not have your own customized domain as : www.yourname.com , but instead the address will be : http://yourname.wordpress.com or http://yourname.blogspot.com
My advice is to pay $4 or $6 a month and get a hosting package with all features including domain name, personalized email accounts and much more. If you feel that’s expensive and can’t be afforded, then take my word “I bought a new hosting plan, yesterday for $6.85, setup the website within an hour, within ONE day, the website generated a profit of $8.29! That’s for one day :)” You can purchase hosting with free domain name, email accounts and control panel from
3) Setup a CMS for your site.
Many people still believe that to build a website, you need to be an expert in HTML and install FrontPage. Yes, it was true, but not now. With the availability of CMS software, the process of setting up a website is only a matter of few minutes and a couple of clicks. CMS “Content Management System” lets your publish and modify the content and even design of your sites without the knowledge of HTML or programming.
If you choose free hosting with either WordPress.com or Blogger.com, then both system provide you with their CMS which you can use straight away!
My Favorite CMS is WordPress which is available free to download at : WordPress.org
Also, It is worth mentioning that the hosting company HostGator.com provides you with a control panel called “Fantastico” to install WordPress with a few clicks in less then a minute.
